Jenny is a Lenny contributor and a bonafide genius and Hags, her hybrid/essay poem/cris de coeur is excellent evidence of that. Partially inspired by Wendy Davis' famed filibuster, there is no predicting where Jenny's radical brain shall take us.
Usually, I'm skeptical about books that land somewhere in the self-help genre. What can I say, I'm a surly New Yorker? But Shonda Rhimes's new book, Year of Yes, has converted me.
Sure, I'm not the current Queen of Television, fielding requests for high-powered meetings and media appearance. Nonetheless, I identify so hard with Rhimes' introversion, her journey to learning that sometimes saying no to others means saying yes to yourself. I can't recommend this book enough: say "Yes" to it ASAP!
